I was as confused as ever. My hand was shaking now. I heard another far-off shriek from somewhere behind us and I whimpered some more, pathetically weeping and clutching tighter to the girl’s hand. We hid behind a large shelf near the second floor banister and I scuttled off to a corner.

She peeked from behind the banister to the floor bellow, trying to make-out some semblance of movement out in the dark. I heard footsteps... but there were something different about them...

....something almost inhuman.

I heard that someone (or something)'s footsteps pause just bellow the second floor banister where we hid. A squeak came out from my mouth and the girl shushed me.

After a few intense seconds, the thing continued on its way. Another moment passed- I can clearly hear its odd footsteps as it passed us- Click clickchhhhhh~. Click click chhhhh~. I shivered. We waited for what felt like hours.

I was shocked when I heard glass being smashed. A wail was heard and then…silence. The girl sighed and collapsed beside me. I looked at her and though that if I have met her this morning on the street, I would say that she was probably insane. Her hair was slightly messed up- a leaf sticking out from the back; in her hand she held a fishing rod, which was covered with, what looked like *shudders*,blood.
